Teas for gout treatment

Gout disease is scientifically known as gouty arthritis. It is an arthritis that happens due to an increase in uric acid in the body. This happens due to the high production of the amount of this acid that ends up forming the accumulation of small urate crystals in tissues and joints. This can lead to complications such as painful arthritis in the joints.

There are treatments with industrialized medicines, however, there are also treatments that can be done with teas and natural medicines that act to reduce uric acid levels. Check out some of them.



honey and comfrey

Add four tablespoons of honey and a teaspoon of comfrey tincture. Heat the mixture and place on a cloth. Then apply to the affected area.

chamomile tea

Prepare chamomile tea in the proportion of one cup to one sachet. Boil the water and add the sachet. Leave until warm, then moisten a cloth with the tea and apply to the affected area.

Change in food

Try to consume plenty of vegetables, vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, strawberries, tomatoes, melon, potatoes, raw vegetables and kiwi fruit, as these help to clean the body. In addition, add blackberries and cherries to your diet, which are fruits with anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid protein-rich foods such as meat, seafood, among others, as they can increase the concentration of uric acid in the blood. Also, it’s important to drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages.


horsetail tea

To prepare horsetail tea use 1 liter of water and two tablespoons of horsetail. In a container, put the water and bring to a boil. When it comes to a boil, turn off and add the mackerel, letting it rest covered for approximately ten minutes. Strain and consume over the course of a day.

rosemary tea

Widely used for rejuvenation, rosemary tea is also useful in the treatment of gout. To prepare, use a proportion of one cup of dried coffee for every 500 ml of water. Put the water in a container and heat it. When it comes to a boil, place the leaves in the pan and turn off the heat. Let stand covered for approximately 15 minutes. Consume between 3 and 4 cups between meals. Attention: consumption is contraindicated for pregnant women and patients with allergies or gastrointestinal problems.
