The pulmonary plant, scientifically called pulmonaryia officinalis , is originally from Europe. It can reach from 15 to 30 centimeters in height. Its stalks are erect, light green and covered with glandular hair. The leaves of the basal rosettes have a broad petiole, and their flowers, usually violet or blue, grow in clusters in terminal umbels.
