Although with its medicinal properties little investigated, betonics presents a series of indications to treat and prevent diseases. Its active principles are supported by alkaloids, choline and tannins, the leaves being the part used in the preparation of tea.

Betonic Indications

Betonic is a plant from the Lamiaceae family that can be used to combat various health problems. Among them are: heartburn, stomach cramps, bronchial catarrh, sores, colic, convulsions, nervous weakness associated with anxiety and tension, delirium, digestive disturbance, and dyspepsia.

The plant can also be used to end headaches, migraines and neuralgia, this one with nervous origin or hypertension. But, not only that, the betonic is also indicated for problems with scrofula, gas, gout, flu, hydrops, hysteria, jaundice, blood impurities, indigestion and nausea.

Neuralgia, paralysis, venomous snake bite and insects; biliary and nervous problems; colds, rheumatism, tuberculosis, ulcers, varicose veins and worms can also be cured using the plant. In relation to the weakness of the nervous system, the consumption of the plant also helps to strengthen it.

Betonic tea

To prepare betony tea, just separate half a liter of water and eight grams of dried herb leaves. It is important to emphasize that the leaf cannot be fresh, as it contains toxic actives that can be harmful to health.

Using a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. As soon as it reaches the boiling point, add the concrete sheets and then turn off the heat. Let it rest for about 10 minutes in the same pan, covering it.

After this time, use a sieve to separate the liquid from the leaves. If you prefer, you can sweeten it with honey. The tea should be taken up to three times a day.
