Teas to treat sore throat

Sore throat is a common and uncomfortable symptom and can be caused by various types of inflammation or infection, such as pharyngitis, laryngitis, flu, tonsillitis and cold. In some cases, sore throat may be accompanied by malaise, fever and difficulty in swallowing food.

Teas to relieve sore throats

Avocado leaf tea and plantain


– 2 avocado leaves;
– 2 plantain sheets;
– 1 glass of water.

Method of preparation:

After boiling the water, add the plantain leaves. Simmer for another 2 minutes and strain. Next, add the avocado leaves and bring to a boil again for 2 minutes. Wait for the mixture to cool and strain again. Gargle this tea three times a day.

Flaxseed tea and lemon


– 4 cups of cold water;
– 50 grams of flaxseed;
– 1 tablespoon of honey;
– ½ lemon peel;
– 1 lemon juice.

Preparation method:

Soak the flaxseeds under running water. In a non-aluminum pan, place the lemon peel and 4 cups of water. Add the seeds that were soaking. Bring to a boil over low heat for 15 minutes. After that, strain, add the lemon juice and sweeten with the honey spoon. Keep the drink in a dishware container.

Other tips

In addition to teas, there are other natural measures that can help relieve sore throat symptoms.

  • Burnt sugar or honey: For relief from sore throat and cough, heat a tablespoon of sugar and, when melted, place in half a glass of milk.
  • A cloth with alcohol and water around the neck can help relieve sore throat symptoms.
  • Ginger, citrus fruits, apples, propolis and mint also help treat sore throat symptoms.
