The cough usually comes with illnesses such as flu, pneumonia and most respiratory illnesses. This is because coughing is not a disease, it is a defense mechanism in our body, as well as diarrhea and tears that appear when we have irritated eyes. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t worry about it, but that we should target the treatment for what caused this cough. To make: Place a liter of water and 1kg of sugar in a pan and cook. Boil the mixture for ten minutes, add 1kg of elderberries, boil for another four minutes and turn off the heat. - Garlic tea – This tea mainly combats acute coughing and should always be consumed warm, so don’t make it in large quantities. It should preferably be consumed in the morning and before bedtime. To Make: Peel and mash two cloves of garlic and place them in a mug. Add 250ml of pre-boiled water and a teaspoon of grated ginger. Cover the mug and keep the tea muffled for about three minutes, drink it as soon as it is warm. If you prefer, sweeten it with honey.
