Discover some teas that can be prepared and consumed at night, before bedtime, improving sleep quality and fighting insomnia.
In addition to the traditional melissa and chamomile teas, for example, there are mixtures that can help to achieve a peaceful and more relaxed sleep, even acting to combat insomnia in a natural way.
Lemon balm and rosemary
Lemon balm, added to rosemary, produces a wonderfully flavored tea that is perfect for drinking before bed. That’s because both plants are natural relaxers, and lemon balm also helps to improve digestion and relieve gas. Rosemary, in turn, increases the body’s defenses while relaxing the body.
– 15 g of lemon balm
– 15 g of fresh rosemary
– 1 cup of water (200 ml)
– 1 tablespoon of honey (25 g)
In a container, bring the water to the heat and boil, then adding the two herbs. Let it cook for about 15 minutes, then turn off. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then strain. Sweeten with honey and consume.
lavender and sage
The mixture acts as a muscle relaxant, relieving tension, as well as being an excellent natural anti-inflammatory. The combination will produce better quality sleep, deep and relaxed.
– 15 g of lavender
– 15 g of sage
– 1 cup of water (200 ml)
– 1 tablespoon of honey (25 g)
Bring the water to the fire and when it starts to boil, add the herbs. Cook for 15 minutes, then turn off and cover, letting the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Strain and sweeten with honey, then consume.
Lettuce
Lettuce is widely consumed, but few people know that it is also a natural tranquilizer. It can be consumed in the form of tea too, providing improvements in sleep, combating insomnia and anxiety.
– 1 handful of lettuce stalks
– 200 ml of water
– honey to taste
Boil the water and then turn off the heat. After that, add the stalks and cover, leaving to rest for a period between 5 and 10 minutes. After that, strain and consume.
Other tips
You can even eat a mashed banana with honey and oats before bed. This will help the body release tryptophan, which is a precursor to serotonin and melatonin, which are linked directly to sleep. The action of the plants mentioned above can be enhanced with this tranquilizer.
