Among the properties related to the use of the plant, highlighting the astringent actions; anti-hemorrhagic; antiseptic; antibacterial; antiblenorrhagic; antidiabetic; antidiarrheal; anti-scurvy; antileukoreic; healing; blood coagulant; diuretics; emetics; ophthalmic and tonic.
The benefits of barbatimão are divided according to the material used. For example, if the bark is used, the plant can help treat skin diseases, ulcers, throat disorders, anemia, diarrhea, hemoptysis, gastritis, cancer and diabetes. In addition, it can act to combat vaginal discharge, gonorrhea, urethral and vaginal catarrh, leukorrhea and uterine bleeding.

How to prepare aroeira tea with barbatimão
Ingredients:
- 200 ml of filtered water;
- 1 tablespoon of mastic leaf
- 1 piece of barbatimão bark.
Method of preparation:
Using a pot with a lid, bring the water to a boil. As soon as it starts to show the first signs of boiling, add the aroeira and the barbatimão and let it boil for two minutes. After this time, turn off the heat and wait about 10 minutes. Remember to keep the container capped. Then just strain the drink.
