The ash tree, scientifically known as Fraxinus angustifólia , is a tree that belongs to the Oleaceae family , the same as the olive tree. The word ash comes from the Latin term fraxinus, popularly known also as common ash and European ash, this is a tree that grows in Europe, is a medicinal plant that is well known as a diuretic, treats rheumatic problems and helps to reduce fever.

Features

The ash tree is a medium-sized tree, which can reach approximately 25 meters in height. The bark of this tree has a dark grayish brown color and also some deep, vertical grooves. Its leaves are green and its flowers are presented in bunches, and unlike most trees, the flowers appear before the leaves appear.

Ash has in its composition flavonoids, rutosides, tannins, iridoide among other compounds. The parts used for medicinal treatments are the dry leaves and the bark.

It can fight the symptoms of gout, osteoarthritis, arthritis, rheumatism, cellulite, cholesterol, obesity, bad breath, urea buildup, excess uric acid, constipation, kidney stones and fever.
