When a person has a fever, one of the main recommendations is to drink plenty of fluids such as juices, water and teas so that the body is well hydrated. Some teas, even, can act even more beneficially in situations of fever, acting directly in reducing the temperature due to its medicinal properties.

basil tea

Basil has properties that fight fever, in addition to acting as an expectorant, even helping to treat colds, bronchitis and pneumonia.

To prepare you will need:

– 2 tablespoons of the plant, which may contain roots, leaves, flowers and branches

– 1 liter of water

In a container, bring the water to the fire. When it starts to boil, turn off and add the herb, capping right away. Leave the mixture to brew for a maximum period of 10 minutes. Then strain and consume.

The recommendation for consumption is always before bedtime, because during the night the fever tends to get worse and the body, during sleep, tries to work more intensely to recover.

Ginger tea

Ginger is an excellent way to lower fever, especially when combined with elderberry and mint. The tea stimulates sweating and circulation and, in doing so, makes the fever begin to subside.

To prepare you will need:

– 250 ml of water

– 1 teaspoon of elderflower flowers

– 1 teaspoon of mint

In a container, bring the water to a boil. While waiting, place the elderflowers and mint leaves in a cup and set aside. When the water starts to boil, turn off the heat and pour the water over the herbs. Cover the cup and leave for approximately 10 minutes, resting while it warms. Consumes several times a day to lower fever.

apple tea

The plant known as macela has diaphoretic properties, inducing sweating and, consequently, helping to regulate body temperature. It also works to fight inflammation and does not compromise the immune system.

To prepare you will need:

– 3 tablespoons of macela

– 500 ml of water

Put the water in a container and bring to a boil. When it comes to the boil, turn off the heat and add the macela. Cover the mixture and let it sit for approximately 20 minutes. After this period, strain and consume a cup of tea.
