In a survey carried out by the Surveillance of Risk Factors and Protection for Chronic Diseases by Telephone Survey (Vigitel), approximately a quarter of the Brazilian population suffers from high blood pressure. Also according to the survey, women are the most affected. These data are highly worrying, since hypertension is responsible for still very serious health problems, such as strokes, cardiovascular accidents (CVA’s) and even vision loss.

  • Three cloves of garlic;
  • A handful of olive leaves;
  • One liter of water;
  • A handful of white thorn leaves.

Method of and consumption

Wash the two kinds of leaves and place them in a container with the liter of water. Bring the mixture to the heat and allow it to boil for approximately three minutes. Turn off the heat and still leave the container covered for another 10 minutes. While the liquid rests, take the garlic and squeeze it. The juice from the garlic cloves resulting from this process should be placed together with the leaves.

The ideal is to drink a liter of this tea a day for a week. The next, stop the treatment and only come back another week. Keep interspersing this home remedy until your blood pressure can return to normal.
