WHITE ROSE TEA

Also known as rose, shrub rose or cut rose, white rose is easily found in markets or flower shops. Widely used as an ornament or gift, its scientific name is Rosa Alba L. and it also has medicinal uses.

According to Greek mythology, in the beginning all roses were white, and when Venus and Adonis fought and Venus’ tears fell on the flowers, some buds turned red. In the past, roses were used by Eastern women when preparing for love and sex life.

Properties and indications

Its properties include astringent, calming, laxative, digestive, anti-inflammatory and depurative action. It is very useful in treating inflammation of the eyes, kidneys and uterus, to disinfect wounds, treat constipation, anxiety, nervousness, cough, sore throat and bronchitis, in addition to being used for skin cleansing.

With a mild perfume used as the essence for many cosmetics, soaps and moisturizing creams, it is also widely used in rose petal baths of various colors for relaxation and skin care. This bath is also used to treat insomnia.

Fill the tub with hot, more like tepid water. Put fifteen rose petals, preferably of different colors, and half a kilo of sea salt, mix and leave for a few minutes. After that, take an immersion bath for approximately forty minutes. Bathing is effective in combating insomnia, stress and anxiety.

White rose petal tea

Good for treating eye irritations, whether due to allergy, conjunctivitis or other reasons, white rose petal tea is very easy to prepare. Put two cups of water in a container, add ten well-washed white rose petals and heat. Simmer for approximately ten minutes. When the mixture has warmed up, use it to wash your eyes or to compress soaked cotton every two hours.

To clean the skin, bring water to the fire and bring to a boil. Add the petals and seeds of the white rose and leave for about ten minutes. After this period, let it cool and wash the skin.

As a tranquilizer, the tea can be prepared with 10 g of white rose petals and seeds for every 500 ml of water. Put both in a container and heat. Bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Sweeten with a tablespoon of honey and drink three times a day.
