Dandelion contains vitamin A, essential to ensure better vision, skin quality and growth; B-complex vitamins, responsible for the proper functioning of the neurological system. As well as vitamin K, which regulates blood clotting and still manages to be important for bone health; vitamin C, to help the immune system; vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant.

The plant also has potassium, zinc, calcium and iron, responsible, respectively, for muscle contraction, protein digestion, strengthening bones and teeth, and preventing the development of diseases such as anemia and heart-related problems.

Antioxidant agents fight the free radicals present in the body and which are responsible for the aging of cells, especially those of the skin. In addition, this action reduces the risk of developing diseases such as cancer and those linked to the liver. They can also eliminate toxins that are present in fat cells, thus allowing the elimination of the latter.

How to prepare tea from this plant?

To make tea you need to use a tablespoon of the roots to a cup of boiled water. After joining the two ingredients, it is necessary to smother the container and wait approximately 10 minutes for it to drink. It is a bitter drink and, therefore, can cause discomfort when ingested. For this reason, you can add other ingredients such as lemon, cinnamon, ginger, mint or some fruit with diuretic properties, such as melon and pineapple.

The ideal consumption should be three cups of tea a day, more than that can affect your health and offer some side effects, such as heartburn and diarrhea. Another contraindication is for pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as people who have hypertension and glaucoma, in all situations, the use of this drug is restricted.
