Chai latte is the most popular drink in India, not only for its flavor, but also for the beneficial properties that this drink has for the human body. It’s basically a mixture of black tea, milk and some spices like ginger, cardamom and cinnamon.

The vegan version of this drink can be made by replacing cow’s milk with vegetable milk. Thus, it is possible to enjoy the following benefits from this drink: aid to the immune system, energy supply for the body and good digestion.

Ingredients

  • 1 thin slice of grated fresh ginger;
  • 1 cardamom seed;
  • 1 small unit of cinnamon stick;
  • 2 sachets of black tea;
  • 100 ml of cashew nut or Brazil nut vegetable milk;
  • 100 ml of water.

Method of preparation

Put the water on the fire and wait for it to boil. When the liquid starts to boil, add the ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and vegetable milk. At this point, mix well with the aid of a spoon and wait for it to boil again.

After this process, turn off the heat and add the black tea sachets. Cover the container and wait around 5 minutes. Then strain and drink. If you prefer, sweeten to taste. Also, if serving for someone else, garnish with cinnamon sprinkled on top of the drink and the chai latte will be perfect .
