Eucalyptus is well known in Brazil for being a plant that has excellent properties for the treatment of diseases in the respiratory tract, such as sinusitis, rhinitis, cough, asthma and bronchitis. The essential oil from this plant is used to treat sciatica, which travels along the sciatic nerve causing agonizing pain. Just gently massage the damaged areas with the oil. In addition to medicinal use, eucalyptus also serves as a raw material for disinfectants and antiseptics, as they have these properties in their composition.

Eucalyptus tea recipe

Mix a tablespoon of chopped eucalyptus leaves in a cup of boiling water. Cover and let the drink sit until it becomes warm. Strain and drink afterwards. Anyone who wants can add lemon drops or honey to the tea. Drink three cups throughout the day.

Pregnant or lactating women should not drink eucalyptus tea , as well as children under two years old neither. Associating eucalyptus with sedatives, anesthetics or analgesics is quite dangerous, just the best thing to do is to ask your doctor if you can drink the tea to treat your problem before you self-medicate.

Clean your skin with eucalyptus!

Did you know that eucalyptus also has properties to treat the skin? To do this, just make a simple recipe:

*Attention to care!

  1. 500 ml of water;
  2. Place 2 eucalyptus leaves, lemon peel, orange and 2 drops of lavender oil;
  3. Remove from heat and let the face receive this steam from a distance for 10 minutes.

It is very important to be careful not to get burned by the steam! To make sure the steam is not harmful, turn off the heat and let it cool for 3-5 minutes. Check by hand that the steam is too hot from a height of at least 30 centimeters. The same process can be used for the feet as it relaxes and activates blood circulation .
