First of all, we need to understand what tonsillitis is. The tonsils are structures that are located in the throat, helping to fight invaders that reach the respiratory system and, consequently, have the function of defense, being part of the system. When inflammation of these structures happens, we call it tonsillitis.

Symptoms

The symptoms of tonsillitis can increase as the infection increases, and vary according to its type, but in general it causes sore throat and the presence of white plaques, in addition to other symptoms such as fever, malaise, reduced appetite, headaches, neck pain, redness and white spots – of pus that may or may not appear – nausea and vomiting, among others.

However, as the symptoms are related to other illnesses, it is important to always see a doctor to get the correct diagnosis.

Treatment

Treatment must be done with medical advice, upon diagnosis, but may have some teas as auxiliaries.

dandelion tea

  • 1 and ½ cup of water
  • ½ tablespoon of dry plant leaves and roots
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

To prepare, boil the water along with the dandelion leaves and roots. When it reaches the boiling point, you should allow approximately 10 minutes to finally turn off. When warm, strain and sweeten with honey. The mixture should be used to gargle three times a day.

pepper rosemary

  • 150 ml of water
  • 2 teaspoons of pepper rosemary leaves

Boil the water and then turn it off. Add the leaves and cover, letting it steep for a few minutes. After this period, strain and gargle or rinse between two and three times a day.

orange blossom syrup

  • 1 lemon cut into 4
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup of honey tea
  • 3 tablespoons of orange blossom

To prepare, mace the orange leaves, garlic and lemon and then put the honey on top. Cover and let it sit for twelve hours and finally wring it out in a clean cloth. Consume a tablespoon of the syrup in the morning and another in the evening.

Other treatments

Other ways to treat it are with cucumber juice with honey, gargle with green tomato juice or pineapple juice with honey, or apple puree consumed as a substitute for one of the meals.
